Robust water repellent surfaces

Superhydrophobic surfaces for self-cleaning, oil-water separation, anti-fouling and anti-corrosion application often are used in mechanically and chemically harsh environments. In general, however, superhydrophobicsurfaces are weak to mechanical stress. Under mechanically harsh environments, nanostructures of thesesuperhydrophobic surfaces easily are destroyed. Then, contact angles of superhydrophobic surfaces are decreased. Finally, decline of performance at application occur.

MEL develops robust and simple process water repellent surfaces by using spray coating method. MEL guarantees that robust water repellent made by MEL maintained special wettability for a longer time at harsh environment than any other water repellent surfaces.
